瑞典密斯科湯尼克醫(yī)學(xué)院，年輕的學(xué)生肯恩（Bruce Abbott 飾）和院長(zhǎng)的女兒梅根（Barbara Crampton 飾）暗中相戀，兩人相約在肯恩畢業(yè)后正式結(jié)婚。
不久，天才醫(yī)師赫伯特?韋斯特（Jeffrey Combs 飾）自澳大利亞歸來(lái)。在澳期間，他曾與另一位科學(xué)家研究一種令死者復(fù)活的藥物，但該藥物的副作用是復(fù)活后的人皆喪失心智，失性狂亂，他的研究伙伴即在一場(chǎng)事故中喪生。韋斯特找到肯恩的公寓，希望與之合租。他始終不忘復(fù)活藥物的研究，并爭(zhēng)取到肯恩的幫助。然醫(yī)學(xué)院院長(zhǎng)卻因韋斯特在澳洲的事故而禁止相關(guān)研究，最終釀成一起慘案。
